The parents know that they face the possibility of being "expelled from the synagogue." PHARISEES CONFRONT THE ONCE BLIND MAN RELIGIOUS LEADERS ARE "BLIND" The Pharisees cannot accept that Jesus gave sight to the man who was born blind, so they call in his parents. And Levi gave a big reception for Him in his house; and there was a great crowd of tax collectors and other people who were reclining at the table with them. Some of the Pharisees even invited Jesus to have dinner with them in their homes: a Pharisee invited (Jesus) to eat with him, so he went in and reclined at the table. The Pharisees went out and immediately began conspiring with the Herodians against Him, as to how they might destroy Him. And Jesus began to say, as He taught in the temple, How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David? Jesus Condemns the Pharisees and the Teachers of the Law of Moses -(Mark 12.38-40; Luke 11.37-52; 20.45-47)Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: The Pharisees and the teachers of the Law are experts in the Law of Moses. Jesus *said to them, Did you never read in the Scriptures. Prior to the events narrated in chapter 12, the chief priests and the Pharisees issued orders that required people to report the location of Jesus in order that the leadership might arrest Him. The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment, and will condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.
